Two Generations of Role Models Send Messages to Graduates of Anhui Xinhua University : Write Youth in Places Where the Motherland Needs It

Jun 15, 2026, International Office,5-minute read

Recently, all the AXHU 2026 Graduation Ceremony was movingly seen as a cozy farewell party for this year’s nearly 7,000 graduating students, but also a service station recharging sharply-emotional for the upcoming venerable journey in the everyone’s life.

—Two Greats of preceding generations’ wish AXHU C’26 graduates—To Write A National Story On ‘Our Good Earth’—the view of themselves ‘Youth Venerable Efforts’ would have marveled at... later on

Another common but ‘uncommon’ dusk coming down as before, when, with a sudden look of the soft-tempered sun hanging still in the western skies, the brisk night-heavy stillness being spreading across the burning hearts of those young people there, who were trapped into a known or unknown hesitation of whether or not to say goodbye to the AXHU campus life, where she or he has spent each one’s own unique proportion over the past 4-year career, however, not being lingering in no exception for the academic calendar, according to which everyone had had made a change truly stunning of either this ups or that downs, looming over the prior exclusive ultra-aspiration of theirs while overlooking all the real-world expectations surging up on all sides as not usually recognized.

—Just now, perhaps, “anybody could help turn the clock back to some point” that someone(s) is from a want of having a ‘time travel,’ hoping if possible at least: “Go back with very few of hidden reasons” beheld in the nodding acquaintance on a trending, unspoken, younger adults’ agreement.

Then, on the Lucky Cloud stadium big screen is playing a video documentary themed “Our Good Earth” recording the farmland-dedicating stories of AXHU alum XU Xudong, ’18, then-undergraduate of Architecture and his grandfather XU Congxiang, nationally known as “Anhui Wheat King,” “Times Exemplary Model,” and “China Laboring People of Excellence,” mainly because the AXHU Education providers want to tell something from the bottom of heart that is meant to the Chinese higher education’s mission and value, that is an ideological heritage of Chinese traditional culture excellence from generation to generation, that is a new narration of the new era’s educational innovation and transformation rooted in a vast of China’s educational soils, and that is a declaration of the younger followers in promising themselves not only as the inheritor, but also an innovator advancing their hi-tech knowledge to address the real-time challenges for a more beautiful landscape of ‘shared future” to come true.

While, surprisingly, hopefully, and deeply, watching the grandfather-and-grandson’s  tough but inspiring stories representing a lifelong down-to-farmland belief & action of serving for the people with their sweats and wisdom, the each frame streaming before their eyes was then completely silencing the entire star-lit stadium filled with the audience members congratulated with XU families’ BEST WISHES: “To commence from AXHU campus, to become a full-fledged star, and to embrace your own tomorrow’s harvest in all walks of life.”

From architectural drawings to eco-agricultural design, youth vibrancy glowing on the good earth

After that, XU Xudong achieved a comeback hinting with good sense, coming to the stage center many years later and sharing more profound experiences with his younger ‘brothers & sisters’ to make a trumpet talk on the Campus Night, who are now warming up along with that among the cooler but ‘hotter’ night that will be memorable forever.

During studying his bachelor’s program of Architecture at AXHU School of Urban Construction, he had had honed himself to be in a good shape of behaving in prudence, factual, and bona fide, when blueprinting construction complex desktop and testifying the data structure with unusual features even as oddities, AXHU Motto of “Being Virtues; Pursuing Truth; Erudition; Innovation” has always summoned up to unveil his iron-willed courage shaped through the youthhood pleasingly.

In his last months of AXHU career, many of his classmates willingly took a post like going for the engineering design institute choice boom, while Xu made a surprising option of returning his homeland, since he often happened to catch a sight of many farmers when aged although, still laboring on the farmlands, in the context of China’s urbanization and industrialization, pondering over a question of “who will take over the farmland for the food security?” that frequently occurred to his mind.

With such deeper thinking of the responsibilities & duties, he returns home and takes over his grandfather’s farmlands under the “household contract responsibility system with remuneration linked to output,” and since become a ‘New Farmer’ just at the age of 22.

Over the last many years, Xu also applied the innovation competence and knowledge especially advancing on AXHU campus to rethink, transform, and improve the local high-yield agricultural practices, and then promoted that achievements sampled for transmitting as wide as possible the well-founded and -reasoned technologies of Smart Farming & Breeding, with which his team has had set the track records year on year and he himself was crowned a trove of national titles, such as “Golden Bean King” at the National Bean High-Yield Competition, National Rural Revitalization Youth Pioneer, New Times’ Youth Pacesetter, the Grassroots Employability Excellence of Chinese Higher Education Graduates, and more.

All the honors in his eyes, nevertheless, is always less important than the recompense that while seeing the smiles blooming on the county fellow men’s faces, upholding President XI’S VISION: “To Grow High-yield, High-quality Grains,” serving as secretary-general of Anhui Taihe-Based Big Farmers Alliance, he led a bigger community of farmers to step on the way to common prosperity successfully.

Again, standing on Alma Mater center stage with a taste of “sweetness” in contrast to “bitterness,” his remark highlights felt obliged to “satisfy not only for self-concerned wealth accumulation, but also for collective-benefited shared future” have been always committed to the great Chinese Dream, sparking over all the younger students: “Never give up to face off any tough challenges in the rest of your life, whereas you should remain ever-confident to consolidate your basement with your down-to-earth endeavors.”

“There is no one-size-fits-all approach that will be mattering precisely in options—especially for transition period while in the decision-making process in any fields,” as he said, “so, our young fellow should write the individual ideals into the national future blueprint at any time and commit ourselves to its exact position to outgrow and to outglitter than ever.”

‘To spend the rest of my life being down-to-earth,’ Xu Sr. urged in simple words

To be continued on large screens, the elder man XU Congxiang’s image now zooming in at such midsummer night that is warm and serene in New China’s glory.

40 years ago, XU Congxiang became the CPC member, gloriously.

And he has took half a lifetime on the earth plowing, planting, and researching... to secure the “Good Food Bowl” of nationals in big hopes.

Today, his well-deserved laurels nourished by his own nearly 50-year hectic farming practices are sprawling inch by inch to bestow all the junior dedicators with deep patriotism wholeheartedly.

In the video clippings, the old man repeats lots of thanks to all the AXHU education providers, adding that his beloved grandson XU Xudong benefits greatly from the China AXHU-based mission to shape his own life value in particular as one of successors for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and the far-reaching views to prepare the students who are eligible for advancing knowledge and innovative transformation with their new ideas, milestone methods, and well-grounded attitude along the traditional road to explore some new vibrant landscapes.

As for his own feel bonded with the native soils, he concluded earnestly this time, however, 50 years later: “‘Honesty is the best policy’—lifetime commitments down-to-earth in the framework will never treat you unfair or even bias if you want to ‘yield’ a difference.”

Thus, “when walking out of the campus, no matter what kind of undertakings within the overall social system that is under way at each dawn, however, to re-challenge yourselves first and foremost in retrospects. On the other side, we will be always beside you when aging day-on-day though. Last but not least, our little seed-like students should go with the winds in the sunshine to find your own place to grow up by inches,” he puts hopefully.

—“You all are our national future!”

This is ‘torch-relay’ story happened of the two generations

Half a century is otherwise neither long nor short across the multiple dimensions to culture how lifelong excellence is closely meant to the everyday efforts throughout the grandfatherly years while looking on the younger adults with benignant sayings of his plain but legendary life filled with his own simple actions of the greatest responsibilities fitting with the elder generation’s benevolence and generousness, all of which is nothing but a real-time ideological and political education course that can listen, see, train, reflect, and be felt with each younger warm heart, in which there is no a pointer of requiring an assessment or ratings with respect to the usual academic assignments or not as with warm-up slogan being offered likely in theory, but this is a weathered ‘LIGHTHOUSE’ always standing up for their offspring both going home, harboring, and then sailing afar with the youth dreams.

During the AXHU Commencement ceremonies 2026, all the graduating students therein unexpectedly obtained a time of spiritual baptism on the ‘Farewell-bidding Season’ in AXHU community, where has been full of strong but silent settings, moving behaviors, and emotionally-reserved backdrops, with which all the C’26 members are now uplifting to give each other a hug, to readily greet the next morning’s sunlight, and to embrace the following stint of theirs representing in poems by romancing into faraway lands somewhere that can help contrive a selection of meaningful stories to tell out when restored into our memories many, many years later.

Or, another year’s commencement moment approaching to a ‘hesitated’ end, the ‘Sails’ are but briskly hailed at full scale around the midnight, bearing the Alma Mater’s monumental congratulations, the former generations’ best wishes, and the fellow members’ mutual support and encouragement roused with patriotism, enthusiasm and devotions at prime time to bolster whatever they could have shouldered exclusively on their voyages respectively charted with their own times’ reliability and trustworthiness of boldly marking far more splendid chapters for Chinese national stories of excellence in the world.
