China International College Students’ Innovation Competition 2024

On Oct 12-15, the finals of China International College Students’ Innovation Competition this year sponsored by MOE wrapped up at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

 

Historically, the AXHU School of Big Data & Artificial Intelligence delegation’s high-performance project—Status of the Suppliers for Machine Vision Equipment of Infrared Polarization Imaging Technology—earned a silver medal, which was instructed by the research staff member LI Miao, including the current undergraduate students HOU Qingyang, SUN Yunfang, FANG Zhikun, and others.

 

This mega event brought together 514 projects by over 20 million candidate students at 5,406 higher education institutions spanning 153 countries and regions, which competed through 5-month qualifier matches on the road to the finals.  

 

Based on the Infrared Polarization Imaging Technology and data analysis, the project  members helped realize the monitoring and early warning for the integrated environment or conditions of all kinds.

 

In addition, they won a wider breadth of supports and appraisals from the judgment panelists and other peers, regarding their passionate presentation during the road show, while remaining composed through the Q&S interactivity on venue.

 

Successfully, they were presented with the silver medal of “Start-ups Track in Higher Education,” which recorded higher in the history of AXHU education.

 

Since the beginning, AXHU leaderships, such as vice president WANG Qijing, attached great importance to the project building and public engagement as well.

 

During the “mobilization” plenum racing for the finals, he stressed the salient value to cultivate the spirit of innovation and competition, while being fully dedicated to the preparation from the planning to step-by-step construction-and making a lasting impact on the contemporary college students’ growth in regard to their far-reaching ideas and high-profile practices to face such first-tier challenges nationwide.

 

AXHU Innovation & Startups Academy staff worked out a comprehensive design for the targeted training series, based on additional resources for tech support, awareness survey, project-aided seminars, pioneering work by internal and external professionals or scholars of excellence, a wide network of former winners and competitors, in-person/ online connections, highlight research, point-to-point instruction, a roundup of exemplary projects, Roadshow and Q&S interactivity, and more. 

 

Benefiting from the assistance of experienced instructors across AXHU, the team members tackled lots of problems and questions over the past months to better the project planning, other relevant documentations, as well as Roadshow PPT, which could help them lay a solid foundation for a roaring success.

 

In the light of all the achievements on this event, which may absolutely identify not only the current students’ individual capacity to create some noteworthy new things in the academic areas, but also the collective, plural and inevitable outcomes that arise from the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education at AXHU.

 

Over the past decades, the campus community has already been committed to developing the spirit of innovation & creativity through civic participation to increase the current students’ knowledge and practical competences, which provides handy skills and resources available for affecting their breakthrough commitment on all fronts.

 

Meanwhile, the entire educational system has been deeply interwoven with the interdisciplinary research and multimodal methodologies to advancing the internal reform for educating high-quality applied talents in higher ed, who will get branded by and swamped with the professional ethics, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the vast array of creative settings.
