AXHU Intl Students Beat on Boat

On May 31, the 2024 International Chinese Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament was launched at the Xuanwu Lake National Water Sports Training Base, Jiangsu, China. And the AXHU international students team (which is consisting of 12 students from Mongolia plus one Chinese fellow) experienced the thrills and spills against the current, finishing seventh at the 500-meter straight race of the final rowing quotas.

Filled with aspirations, team spirit, and artistic glamour of Chinese Dragon Boat culture, the sweep event was co-hosted by the Jiangsu Federation of Overseas Chinese, the YANGHE Co., Ltd., and the Nanjing Municipal Overseas Chinese Federation, which honorably invited the continental teams such as All-Argentina Dragon Boat Association, Chinese Australian Chamber of Commerce to Nanjing (CHN) Dragon Boat Club, as well as a dozen of current international students delegations at higher education institutions.

Although it was the first paddling experience of this type, all the AXHU rowers—“struggling for today, tomorrow”—fully waged their concerted efforts in solidarity, concentration and perseverance toward the finish line, which was truthfully interpreting the athletic impact of the Chinese Dragon Boat Games.

During the rowing event, what they perform absolutely are widely hailed as the greatest Youth among the audience’s warm acclaims and applause in the air, which was also officially broadcast worldwide through live streaming platforms and tools. Significantly, it also expands the opportunity of both communicating the Chinese traditional culture using “extended reality” and championing all-people fitness & recreation initiatives from a unique “mapping method” to augment the growing diversity, but inclusion and equality, from around the world.

After that, Coach WANG Jun with AXHU General Education Department delivered a conclusion, and encouraged all the members to fight with Dragon Boat Race spirit for propelling individuals’ academic career to the pinnacle during the 4-year undergraduate study at AXHU community.

Actually, the excellent actions as well as its historic achievements by AXHU international students manifested not only the profound demeanor of “Forward” in sustainability plus their own all-rounded strengths, but, to a greater extent, the future big potential for AXHU-wide international education practices in the cross-cultural teaching and learning contexts. All AXHU faculty, students and staff should, thus, be committed themselves to inheriting and driving the Chinese traditional culture of brilliance to the forefront, by which to prepare a large number of international talents featuring stronger capacities in academia, embracing global vision anywhere, and focusing on the common human civilization of all time.
