AXHU Liaison Programme 2024

Apr 24, 2024, International Office

Many years later, it was happening on the Red-letter Day on calendar, Apr. 20, 2024, that the AXHU Alumni Office, along with its division in the city of Hefei, celebrated the 2nd AXHU Gathering themed “Embracing Alma Mater, Climbing DaShu Mountain,” aiming to deepen connection and communication between alumni in cohesiveness and to team up in natural fit.

At around 2 p.m., they signed up at the entrance of AXHU Auspicious Cloud Stadium, where to collect sports kits and other accessories (such as name badge), and then under the guidance of the team mentor Kang Weisheng, this event began with pathbreaking game as planned on the play field, during which the intimate friendships were deepened through a diversity of coloured, positive recreation activities, and the fits of laughters sounded happily in the spring air.

In the end, the team was divided into two groups (in Red and Blue). And then, accompanied by the Office staff, the Red group had a campus walk in the vigorous green campus to recollect the most memorable things of their youth times at AXHU, and the other merrily experienced a time of Dragon Boat Race on the Ru-Qin lake.

And around 4 p.m., they marched along a winding mountain road, while enjoying the picturesque scenes beyond description-and having happy small talk all the way. After covering several kilometers, they reached the summit, having the full view of lush forests in fresh air and white clouds in the azure skies. Hereby, as a poem reads, “The vigorous woods grow in natural essence; The high peaks are skirted in fogs and mists.”

During this home-like gathering at AXHU community, “After graduating, we often reminisced about those life-long faculty, fellow members, and then young friends, who stood ready to support us to live a meaningful 4-year college life,” expressed SHEN Yongjia, C’09, alumnus at the Department of Environmental Art Design. “This thoughtful event offered a chance of revisiting our Alma Mater to feel her greater changes over the past years, which made us feel excited and delighted.”

“Today, I came along with my own families, while rowing dragon boat on the tranquil lake and enjoying beautiful campus scenery,” CHEN Cheng, C’07, International Economy and Trade alumnus said. “As if I returned to the past, we were moved by the concerted efforts in team spirit of the current students as well as AXHU dragon boat teammates.”

“Our youthful times spending on AXHU campus will impact and last forever,” YAO Lu, C’07, Architectural Engineering Technology alumnus said passionately. “This was meaningful, memorable, and family-owned activity. Thanks to our AXHU faculty, students and staff!”

As known, this event was organized by the Hefei division, which invited more than 120 people (Incl. the alumnus families). In the future, the Office will continue to launch the events of this kind, by which to strengthen the AXHUers’ connections to promote the holistic redevelopment initiative and humanistic construction of AXHU-wide impact in all aspects.
