QIN Jian: “Working with Aspiration, Concentration and Determination Towards Another Academic Culmination ”    

 

 

Early autumn each year, a massive number of young people in hope gathering... from around the world.

Later, they changed the AXHU campus, colorfully, vibrantly and historically, 

with their field of study, creations in height, and ideas of wanting to make a difference, sustainably,

who are now changing the world with their strenuous efforts and initiatives in academic culture, social impact, and value-added engagement,

and who will bring about their transformational contributions, being proven what they had experienced significantly through unusual, undaunted toils of career training in programs, practices and interaction at the higher education community and beyond.

 

 

Through the featured report, ‘Dialogue_AXHU_Alumni,’ are those Stories of Alumni of Excellence—happening over the past 20 years—being offered by the AXHU Office of Communications columnists.

 

Since the start of 2014 Sept., QIN Jian began his undergraduate program at AXHU School of Electronic Engineering/Intelligent Manufacture.

 

After the four-year studies, research and practices on campus, Qin has been empowered with AXHUers’ common understandings of “Dedication to Career, Practice in Ethos, Staying Virtuosity.”

 

Upon graduation in summer of 2018, he opted directly for his continued education by pursuing the Hangzhou Dianzi University master’s program in Hydromechanics (concentration in SIMPLE algorithm for Incomprehensible Flow), and then achieved lots of academic achievements, including the research paper (SCI), or some publications on core journal (in English or Chinese languages).

 

In 2021, he declared his doctoral program in High-Performance Computing at the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), and wrote and published some high-quality academic papers (SCI/EI), during which he also had actively been engaged with some research projects in military,—to scale up the academic summit one after another. 

 

Most clearly, Qin manifested his steady determination, ceaseless efforts, intensive curiosity, profound insights and understandings, and reimagined a far-reaching blueprint which may navigate his academic career all the way. “Today is the best time!” he considered philosophically, “We should take center stage through diligence in unrelentingness and with truth-seeking goals.”

Academic Career—A Vast Land to Explore

 

Being like a shining star at night, Qin ventured into his own professional ‘galaxy,’ and was travelling on a stunning trajectory starting from AXHU launchpad, fortunately, where he endeavored to search out and discover some magic, panic existence yet unknown in cosmos, day and night.

 

‘The stratificational studies and critical thinking of academic discoveries at the deeper layers would unveil a better world we hope to rebuild, which the scientists and disciplinary researchers have been dedicated themselves to deepening, expanding and transforming from generation to generation,’ Qin intimated profoundly.

 

Stepping up the journey at twilight, with sparking ideas and enthusiasm bumping up to illuminate the winding pathway at a cold, dark night... leading to an amazed academic landscape looming at dawn.

 

In the face of those thorny issues, hurdles or uncertainties, the academic research is not  one-way opportunity to get ahead by the one-stop attending service too.

 

“However very few had been achieved frequently, the researchers were even suddenly trapped into a ‘Deadend’ in the real-world context,” while coding in programming language for Fluid Simulation projects.

 

Even better, “The re-imagination of peeling back what we in desperation had been involved in labs goes for the strategic solutions, analytic approaches or the alternative scientific tools, at times, which would become omnipotent, inclusive, and receptive,” Qin reckoned, “The story of ‘Tower of Babel’ is offering a meaningful insight into further expansion as an enlightenment.”

 

 

Pursuing in the area of Hydromechanics

 

Qin was steeped into a new academic concentration during studying his doctoral program, which is different from the master’s program, he noted, “Being out of curiosity, academic interest and real-world impact, a combination of Hydromechanics and Navier-Stokes equations, which is still the one of the four big issues unsolved in the past two thousand years, would magically unleash the potentials of the Physical Laws via precisely-defined algorithmic solutions. Thus, which must bring in a new world of Artificial Intelligence immediately or in the future.”

 

Cherishing the each step of AXHU journey, Qin laid a solid basement for building his own knowledge architecture with a positive life attitude.

 

At the Hangzhou Dianzi University, he continued to expand his emphatic opportunities of research projects, field of study, and experiential practices, by which to obtain a different vision-to increase promising skills and techniques-and to shape a character of making crucial decision which could bring about an expected or unexpected answer at every intersection in the life journey.

 

“Primarily, the study and life at NUAA had presented me a much more meaningful map, which has and will navigate to a broader space of sciences”. 

 

Being in pursuit of academic knowledge, Qin is writing an inspiring story of evoking AXHUers to practice whatever they resonate in heart, and to become enamored by the beautiful things they could hopefully rebuild over time.

About those reminiscentdays and sheer happenings at AXHU community, insofar, “What lucky and happy experiences we had and felt valued the first day on the significant campus!” Qin recalled gratefully, “This is a vigorous place full of natural beauty, academic power, and humanistic spirit, which deeply impressed every incoming student in 2014 fall, who were exposed to a swath of amiable greetings from the generous volunteers”.

 

“And through the 4-year academic study and social practices, the faculty, seniors and staff of excellence try all the time to make us better and better in all aspects.”

 

Heartily, Qin expressed his thanks and best wish to all the AXHU faculty, students and staff, “While taking a role of the first-year student leadership organization for the class management and connections, the faculty members, mentor and classmates backed me to challenge the highly complicated tasks with their inclusive, rapport solutions that matter always, by which I was trained to became a stronger pilot, intentionally, vicariously, and permanently. ”

 

 

Dialogue with Qin (abridged)

 

Q1: What critical questions and problems occurred over the course of your academic career?
 

“Absolutely, there is no clear way to success! Twists and turns are actually the ‘short-cut,’ sometime, because they will intrigue a time of critical thinking and deep learning instead”.

 

“A stark contrast in academic work and research methods essentially based on the courses architecture, for example, would bring out sharply different changes in both action and psychological status, and also results of impact, while shifting from undergraduate studies to the Master’s research programme”.

 

“Disastrously, the large-scale ‘flight stoppage and congestion’ of concurrent admission suspension within or beyond my disciplinary area made me depressed and gloomy all the time, while preparing for my doctoral program as planned optimistically. But the things were changing and changed with some unsaid determination.

 

“Thanks! I am indebted to the people behind us, including our families, teachers, peer students, close friends, and much more, for their care, help and understandings.”

 

 

Q2: What’s difference between on-campus studies and real-world practices?

 

 “Growing from undergraduate, master’s student to PhD student, the high-level academic work specific for theoretical research and findings has almost defined all the things I engaged over the past few decades”.

 

“But I am now committed to the potentials, sustainability, and career planning in the long run, by which to redefine the individual view and value, while maximizing our collective contributions to the people’ well fare and social progress in the real world”.

 

“Therefore, when receiving assignments from the project managers, I like to think independently and make a decision in the trial phases, and then deliver my new ideas and solutions to the project group for a next empirical study and constructive discussion”.

 

“Here, I need to stress that the ‘Equality, Inclusion and Innovation’ will write a new chapter of advancing Sci-Tech development, going beyond conventionally established patterns of academic research, and critically pushing the cognitive boundaries in our times”.

 

“We shall be very responsible for our lifetime and the future of humanity. Living in Presence! ”

 

“Time flying away. Let’s go ahead and beyond, learn to make a serious decision at each crossroad of career paths, and then stride steadfastly toward a shining future of all young students in pursuit of self-actualization on the way.”

 

 

Q3: Well, Pls. offer some tips of learning methods and career planning for the current undergraduate students at AXHU schools and departments.

 

“It dynamically depends on what you are intended to make breakthroughs in the field of study of either scientific research or hands-on priorities”.

 

“As for the former topic above, the candidate students might tend to prepare the  featured abilities of accelerating their own self-development in a number of ways, involving logical and critical thinking, time management, application of learning tools, academic opportunities, and project resources. ”

 

“While studying my undergraduate program at AXHU, I myself develop a sound capacity, regarding the time management of affecting the learning effects positively, including explicit study plans and asymmetric work summaries on notepad or computer, online academic resources and community of helping shape critical thinking, such as UEfAP.com, EAPFOUNDATION.COM, high-quality blogs of teaching and ideas sharing on ‘bilibili’ website, etc.”

 

“There is, however, no one-size-fits-all solution in receptiveness.”

 

“Apart from major knowledge, the college students should stay hungry for the human’s spiritual treasure and civilized heritage as much as possible, and cherish any opportunity of integrating whatever they learn in classroom into the transformational applied practices in the field (e.g., AXHU-wide Faculty-led research projects, summer extension programs, internships, or community work)”

On the way towards academic summits in succession, Today’s QIN Jian, one of AXHU alumni, is still characterized with a different style of AXHU undergraduate students, who are in pursuit of their romantic goals to mark more and more discoveries for public good in the rest of their life, and is making a difference with edge-cutting knowledge, positive mindset, and lofty life value.
