// An Overview of AXHU School of Culture and Communication

 

This School is one of the founding parts of AXHU higher education, which covers six educational divisions in all: Chinese Language and Literature; Journalism; Advertising; Radio & Television Media; Preschool Education; Primary Education.

 

For preparing high-caliber, applied talents in Media and Modernity, this School is upholding the concept of “combining multiple disciplines and developing a new area in liberal arts,” exercising all-out efforts in the groundwork of featured, first-class, application-oriented and modernized school, which comprehensively conducts broad-ranging cooperation with many famous enterprises and new media platforms at home and abroad, establishes the Stellar Industrial Institute, and imports front-line experienced professionals as tutors for its undergraduate students, high-quality practical programs and training projects of innovation and entrepreneurship, by which the undergraduate students can combine between classroom-style learning and real-world practices and empower their executive capacities of business start-ups. In particular, the School has established the first “online celebrity” talents-training base of the Anhui provincial higher education and the first base of China for University Students’ Ideological and Political Education, aiming to enhance its educational level by coordinated and concerted endeavors. 

 

Today, it has had around 3,600 undergraduate students, and tenured or adjunct or dual-appointment faculty and staff members of 125, comprising many service professors/emeritus professors at the partnership universities, and some broadcasters, anchorperson, senior editors or front-line correspondents with provincial- or municipal-level media agencies in the nation. Moreover, it has employed some famous literature writers and scholars to act as the “disciplinary leadership” and “guest professor” mentoring the undergraduate students to study and make progress within the context of advanced approach in scientific research.

 

The School gives priority to the cultivation of students’ abilities in purposeful application and individually creative development, and builds up a series of in-school experimental and training facilities such as the news studio, the recording lab, the integrated training center for Chinese language, the training room for News and Advertisement, the testing venue of Chinese Mandarin/Putonghua Proficiency, the piano room, the dance rehearsal hall, the live-streaming lab, the preschool education institute, etc. In addition, it has applied for official permission to set up numbers of social academic bodies, such as the Specialized Committee of E-commerce Live-Streaming and Short Video of the Anhui Advertising Association, the Specialized Committee of the Micro-Film of the Anhui Review Society, the Specialized Committee of Anhui Provincial History and Culture Research Center for the “Letters from Home” and the branch of the Culture Research Institute of the “Wan*River” (*The abbreviation for Anhui in Chinese pinyin: wǎn), so as to actively explore a feature presence of higher education specific for the journalism and publicity, which is compact with an organically structured complex: Pre-production—Planning and Covering and Writing; While-production—Compiling and Reviewing and Broadcasting; Post-production—Shooting and Editing and Producing.  

 

In the recent years, the undergraduate students have earned more than 1,000 awards of all kinds at the national or provincial level, and both the students and the faculty members stage and perform many times at the China main media platforms, such as the China Central Television (CCTV), the Anhui Broadcasting Corporation (AHTV), the Hefei Broadcast Television, etc. So, the educational influence of the School is booming and goes viral, which wins more and more “Likes” of the social employers and students’ families. Consequently, the mode of talents cultivating is often recognized and reported by the domestic press.

Objectives of Talents Training. This specialty is adhering to a philosophy of localization- and application-oriented schooling, highlighting the edges of the specialized talents majoring in the Radio and Television Production, who can, in the times of Convergence Media, learn to present the excellence of Audio-Visual expression and to inherit the capstone brainchild as evidenced by the world-renowned directors, producers, playwrights or photographers in the fields of Broadcasting, Anchoring, Theater, Film and Television, etc.

 

Its practice teaching system should leverage the production of the documentaries and micro films, be based on the projects, bring together much more professionally sophisticated tutors coming from the institutions of higher education, social enterprises or media industries, provide with “one-stop training,” and prepare a large number of all-round, well-trained and high-level working professionals for the cultural sectors, social enterprises or public institutes, where they can be competent in the work specific for the culture and communication.

 

Future Careers. The talents preparation is aligned with the commands of the social sectors, such as radio and television station, cultural society, educational institution, literature and art association, social enterprise or public agency, who can be well engaged with creating and editing, shooting and filming, post-production of film and television, etc.

Objectives of Talents Training. This specialty cultivates the undergraduate students to systematically grasp the theoretical knowledge of the Broadcasting and Anchoring, to lay solid foundation of theories and develop profound cultural connotation in the area of Journalism and Communication, to be aware with the policies and laws stipulated in the information agencies (or press) contexts, to obtain rich experiences in relation to the broadcasting, anchoring, socializing, planning and performing, who can be engaged with the businesses of cultural communication such as broadcasting, anchoring and producing at the radio & television station, network media, relevant social enterprise or public agency.

 

Featured Specialty. Being suited for the media industries and training institutions, on the basis of the initiative “Industry-Education Integration and Joint Education,” the Broadcasting and Anchoring programme provides a shared ground for the key discipline—Information and Communication Sciences—to actively explore a brand new educational mode for nurturing the high-quality talents who are capable of dealing with the practical work in the field, deepen the cooperation with social enterprises or industries and turn to the demands of the employers, and who are qualified for jobs/positions involving the “language arts,” interviewing and editing and producing, teaching and training, etc. By doing so, the students’ comprehensive competencies and specialized abilities can be certified fully and improved effectively.

 

Future Careers. Towards the radio station, television station, network media, as well as social enterprise and public sector, this Specialty is to foster the high-caliber applied talents who should obtain the knowledge of information and communication, language and literature, science of broadcasting, appreciation of art, and aesthetics, who can try out the work—anchoring, editing, interviewing, planning—as the professionals serving at radio station or television station at all levels, or who can be engaged with the language-related practices such as teaching of broadcasting, communicating, reporting, networking, etc.

Trying out an ideal of “Combining between Child Care and Teaching, Laying a Solid Theoretical Foundation, Developing All-round Abilities, Profiting from Innovation and Challenges,” this Specialty in general is to cultivate the high-quality, application-oriented undergraduate students featuring a merit of Moral, Intelligence, Wellness and Esthetic and Diligence, who are adhering to the scientific view on children, are committed to the cause of preschool education, master the theories of preschool education, obtain the ability of life-long learning, nurture a culture of sound professional ethics and social responsibility, as well as acquire the professional capability and specialized skills to undertake the preschool education-related work specific for the Child Care and Teaching at some relevant educational institutions.  

 

Featured Specialty. This Specialty dovetails with the current market’s demands, is dedicated to preparing the excellent teachers, high-level professionals or qualified administrative staff in the area of preschool education, is to drive the innovation and reform in the teaching and training environment, adopts an educational mode of the UGKE (i.e. University, Geo-economics, Kindergarten and Enterprise), and teaches the content courses such as Developmental Psychology of Preschool Children, Pedagogy, Design of Teaching Activities, Montessori Theory and Applications, Dancing, Singing, Piano-playing, Painting, etc. to the undergraduate students, by which to develop them act as application-oriented educators or experts with a broad-based, well-founded education in the future.

 

Future Careers. This Specialty’s graduates can be engaged with the teaching, scientific research, development and design of products, etc. at the kindergarten, primary school, or other educational bodies.

Objectives of Talents Training. This Specialty aims for fostering the benevolent, knowledgeable, high-caliber and application-oriented talents in the areas of educational research and administration concerning the primary education, featuring a merit of Moral, Aspiration, Confidence, Intelligence, Diligence, Wellness, and Esthetic, representing an exemplary model of ethics and acts, staying health physically and psychologically, holding a broad international vision, braving the challenges of innovation, improving personally professional capabilities, and acting on the social responsibility.

 

Furthermore, it underscores the nature of pupils’ physical and mental development and employs correspondingly teaching methodologies and solutions. Thus, the graduating students can be competent in teaching of the main disciplinary studies or integrated practicals, and can proactively be adaptable toward the necessities of the reform and development regarding primary education in the new era.

 

Featured Specialty. The Primary Education is regarded as a newly emerging specialization or concentration, which on the solid base of its disciplinary system, commands the learners to acquire a complex of knowledge in liberal arts, across the fields of the literature, mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, artistic tastes, etc. Meanwhile, they should well know how to analyze and harness all kinds of the teaching materials, how to organize classroom teaching activities, and how to improve his or her scientific researches on the primary education. For example, taking advantage of the themed events and the ‘Young Pioneers’ activities can help the pupils obtain a healthy development in all aspects. Thus, the learners’ abilities of communicating with the pupils’ parents are also enhanced correspondingly.

 

And this Specialty actively implements the dynamic interplay between fundamental education and subject-specific cultivation, gives priority over the practice teaching and disciplinary competition, and encourages the learners to participate in the competition and contests relating to this specialism or other cross-disciplinary subject matters, so as to enhance their applied skills as well as their comprehensive strengths.

Toward the primary schools or educational institutions in the city of Hefei, or in the other areas of Anhui province, or its neighboring provinces, this Specialty prepares the high-quality, application-oriented talents, who are competent in teaching the content courses such as Chinese Language, Mathematics, English Language and Sciences, and are good at the classroom management as well as other related affairs in the field. And they can be engaged with the teaching or scientific research at the government agency, primary school, junior high school, kindergarten, educational department, etc.

In the future careers, they can be engaged with the work such as teaching of the Chinese Language and Literature, culture communication, editing, etc.

It is ratified the school-level featured specialty by AXHU, which aims to foster a large number of all-round, high-quality talents of Chinese Language and Literature, who can be competent in the aspects of “ Listening,” “Speaking,” “Reading,” “Writing, ” as well as innovative thinking. Moreover, it also promotes the construction of curriculum system in modules, adheres to a combination between general education and specialized cultivation, and highlights the practical training and disciplinary competition. Consequently, the graduating students can satisfy the market’s requirements and expectations of today and tomorrow. 

 

Future Careers.Its graduating students are mainly channeled to the government agency, social enterprise and public sector, where they can be engaged with the specialization-related businesses such as secretary work, publicity and education. On the basis of the pillar courses (e.g. Language and Literature, and Secretary Science), turning to the future of the Modern Secretary Science, the graduating students can work as secretary, editor, journalist, teacher, researcher, etc. at the government office, information and media agency, publishing house, primary school, junior high school, kindergarten, educational institution, and so on.

Objectives of Talents Training. This Specialty aims to cultivate a great number of high-quality, well-founded, up-and-coming talents of journalism, who systematically master its theoretical knowledge and lay a solid foundation of cultural aspects, to be professionally trained involving such as interviewing, covering, editing, broadcasting, anchoring, socializing, producing, releasing, advertising, communicating as well as managing and administrating, to grasp the necessary skills and techniques of communication in the times of new media, to be acquainted with the policies and laws stipulated for journalism and publicity, and to be with a firm political stance and a growing competency as for the new knowledge and social networking.

 

Featured Specialty. The Journalism is a science of researching the business and its working mechanism in the area of Information and Media, the relations between the journalistic matters and social function, the properties, value and applications of the news media of all kinds, the history, current status and law of development, the managerial work concerning journalism, etc.

 

This Specialty has been included into the Anhui Provincial-level Excellent Talents Cultivation Program, which is dedicated to preparing the quality, applied talents who are competent in interviewing, writing, editing, reviewing, broadcasting and producing. In line with the development of media industries, promoting the curricular modules, coupling with the social enterprises to co-establish University-Enterprise Classes and co-develop an array of specialized courses, building up the News Studio (for the experiments: adjustment of lighting and tuning, recording and filming, as well as producing on the spot), all these measures can effectively improve the undergraduate students’ practical capabilities. 

 

Future Careers.Its graduating students can be engaged with the work such as interviewing and editing (for news report), planning and producing (for television programs), operating (for the new media), typesetting, advertising, networking and promoting, etc.

Objectives of Talents Training. This Specialty aims to foster the high-quality, application-oriented talents featuring a quality of artistic appreciation and thinking mode in both science and liberal arts, who should grasp its fundamental theories and skills and basically grow the abilities of analyzing and dealing with the subject matters relating to the operation of new media, the advertisement of its relevant areas, and much more.

 

These graduating students can meet the expectations of information agencies, new media industries, advertising firms, publicity sectors of the social enterprises and public bodies, where they can manage such matters in relation to the market investigation and survey and analysis of its information, the programming, designing and innovating of advertisement, the option and integration of media resources, as well as the networking, planning and promoting.  

 

Featured Specialty.This Specialty is a multidisciplinary presence mainly involved in the Sociology, the Economics, the Psychology, the Journalism, the Communication, the Linguistics, the Statistics and the Aesthetics. And the Advertising itself has its own theoretical architecture, which is committed to teaching the students to get to know the market investigation and survey and analysis of its information, the programming, designing and innovating of advertisement, the option and integration of media resources, the operation of new media, as well as the networking, planning and promoting, develops the students’ hands-on capability and drives the project-based, in-depth cooperation via the three-party endeavors (of the teachers, students and enterprises).

 

Today, it has built up series of platforms for field courses (such as Graphic Design, Film and Television Advertising Production) and internships, including Anhui Provincial-level Makerspace Lab, Comprehensive Advertising Lab, and otherwise.

 

Future Careers.Its graduating students are mostly channeled to the information sectors or the functional areas of the Internet company, advertising company, public relations firm, media agency, publicity and promotion department of the social enterprise, in which they can be engaged with the work such as the market investigation and survey and analysis of its information, the programming, designing and innovating of advertisement, the selection and integration of media resources, the operation of new media, the networking, planning and promoting, and so on.

HONG Yu, Deputy Dean/Executive Dean

HONG Yu takes office as the deputy dean, also executive dean, of the AXHU School of Culture and Communication.

 

In 2009-2013, Hong worked as the anchorperson of the weather forecast programs at Sichuan Satellite TV (SCTV) of China. Historically, she earned many awards at different levels, comprising the AXHU New Star Teacher, AXHU Outstanding Mentor, AXHU Excellent Staff, AXHU New Staff Achievement Award, the third prize of the CCTV National Etiquette Knowledge Competition themed “Greeting Beijing 2008 Olympic Games—Advocate Cultural, Ethical Progress and Follow New, Positive Trends,” the second prize of Anhui Provincial Speech Contest, and the honor “Best Docent” of the International Festival of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (Chengdu, China). Also, she mentors the undergraduate students to harvest many awards and honors at Poetry Declamation Contest, Comperes Competition, National Advertising and Design Competition for College Students, as well as other provincial- or national-level contests.

 

LUO Zhenlin, Deputy Dean

LUO Zhenlin, male, the CPC member, lecturer, a native of Linchuan, Jiangxi Province, bachelor’s degree in both the Law and the Business Administration, master of Business Administration, is studying his doctoral degree. And Luo has earned several awards and honors such as the Anhui Provincial-level Lecturer of College Students Simulation Business Start-up, the Anhui Provincial-level Tutor of College Students Innovation and Internships, and 1 award of Anhui Provincial-level Teaching Achievements, completed 2 AXHU-based projects of teaching and scientific research and published 5 academic papers. Historically, he worked at AXHU as mentor, chief of staff, assistant director, and deputy director.

 

From Dec 2021 onwards, he takes office as the deputy dean of the AXHU School of Culture and Communication and the deputy secretary of its CPC committee.

ZHENG Shuai, Assistant Dean

ZHENG Shuai, male, the CPC member, lecturer, a native of Bozhou, Anhui province, has successfully completed 1 provincial-level project of teaching research (director), 1 AXHU-based project of scientific research, 1 AXHU-based project of teaching research, published 2 academic papers, won dozens of awards and honors such as the third prize of the 5th Anhui Provincial Teaching Contests for University Young Teachers, the second prize of Teaching Skills Competition for Teachers of the Private Colleges and Universities in the Yangtze River Delta, third prize of the second session of Chinese Classics CompetitionDeclaiming, Writing and Interpreting (of teachers group), first prize of the 11th session of AXHU Teaching Contests for Young Teachers (also its Best Stage Mien Award), championship of the Anhui Xinhua Group Elites Debate Competition, etc.

 

Historically, Zheng works as the secretary of scientific research, manager of disciplinary competition, assistant director, and takes office, from Feb 2022 onwards, as the assistant dean of AXHU School of Culture and Communication.

XIE Zhaoxin

XIE Zhaoxin, professor, supervisor of doctoral programme, former dean of the Anhui Normal University School of Liberal Arts, pacesetter of the Discipline of Chinese Modern and Contemporary LiteratureAnhui Provincial-level Key Disciplinary Area, has been engaged with the teaching and research of Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature, the research of Chinese Modern and Contemporary Novels, Theoretical Criticism of Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature, and research of the Chinese Modern and Contemporary Famous Writers, is named the specialist in researching the Chinese Famous Playwright LAO SHE, and is currently taking office as the vice president of SOCIETY OF LAO SHE STUDIES, executive member of Chinese Association of Modern Literature, executive member of Chinese Association of Contemporary Literature, vice president of Anhui Provincial Association of Literature, vice president of Anhui Provincial SOCIETY OF ZHANG HENSHUI STUDIES, vice president of Anhui Provincial SOCIETY OF CHEN DENGKE STUDIES, senior-level researcher of Anhui Academy of Social Sciences, recipient of the State Council Special Allowance for the Experts with Outstanding Contribution, evaluation expert for the projects sponsored by national social sciences foundation and by Anhui provincial social sciences foundation, and the programs of either Humanities & Social Sciences or teaching research supported by Anhui Provincial Education Department. And Xie acts many times as the executive member of the Review Board of Anhui Provincial Social Sciences Awards or the head of the Review Panel of Literature and Art.

 

Furthermore, Xie has published 11 scholarly monographs (first author, or co-author), 10 textbooks (first author, or co-author), more than 100 substantial papers (approximately 1.2 million Chinese characters) on the national-level core journals such as Literary Review, Modern Chinese Literature Studies, and 4 academic papers on the international journals such as the “China Journal” issued by the Republic of Korea (ROK), and completed 1 project of national social sciences foundation (which is evaluated and named the first-class project work by the National Office for Philosophy and Social Science in 2009) and 4 projects at the provincial or ministerial level, as well as is working on other 3 research projects at the provincial or ministerial level.

 

And in 2001, his monograph The Art Theory of Modern Native Writers within Wan wins the second prize of the fifth session of Anhui Provincial Social Science Outstanding Achievements in Literature and Art (in category of masterpieces), and in 2006, the Theoretical Development of Chinese Modern Novels is honored the second prize of the seventh session of Anhui Provincial Social Sciences Awards in Literature and Art (in category of social science), and in 2007, his monograph the Concept, Creation and Criticism—A Survey of Chinese Literature in the 20th Century is granted the third prize of Anhui Provincial Book Award, and in Feb 2011, his monograph the Lingering between “Tradition” and “Modernism”— Romantic Narration in the Love Stories by LAO SHE is awarded the second prize of 2007-2008 Anhui Provincial Social Science Publication Award in Literature and Art.

 

Respectively, he receives some honors of the Anhui Provincial Teaching Achievements Award: the first prize in 2000; the second prize in 2004, the first prize in 2010; the third prize in 2012.

 

GU Yunhu

GU Yunhu, male, professor, supervisor of master’s programme, has many years of teaching experience of the Middle School Education (after graduating from university). Since Jun 2003, Gu has worked at the Department of Education, Hefei Normal University (also known as Anhui Institute of Education).

 

Currently, he works as the director of the school-supported key discipline—the Pedagogy (of Curriculum and Teaching Theory), the fellow member of the Anhui Provincial Key Research Base for Humanities and Social Sciences— the Research Center for Teacher Education, and also the seconded lecturer of the Anhui Provincial Cadres Training Class of Educational Management.

 

And Gu’s research subjects and interests include Curriculum and Teaching Theory, Principles of Pedagogy and Teachers Preparation, and he has tried out a profound exploration in the areas such as Curriculum Development of Primary and Secondary School Education, Teaching Design, Knowledge Processing of Teaching Materials, Survey and Analysis of Classroom Teaching Activities, etc.

 

At present, he teaches the content courses to bachelor’s and master’s students including Pedagogy, Curriculum and Teaching Theory, Teaching Design, Philosophy of Education, Philosophy of Children, Selected Readings of Chinese and Foreign Masterpieces on Preschool Education, etc.

 

Plus, he has directed some research academic programs including 2 projects of Anhui Provincial Humanities and Social Sciences (of which, 1 key research project), 1 project of Anhui Provincial Education Planning and 1 cross-disciplinary sub-project of Building Mint High-quality Schools of Feixi County (Hefei, China), and has published more than 20 academic papers such as Limited Knowledge and Mission of Knowledge Teaching, Properties and Principles of Aesthetics for Teaching, Fundamentals of Self-driven Practice for Teachers’ Ethics, A Pathway to High-level Teaching—Measures and Discovery, Rethinking of the Four-pronged Reflections on Education Science, Emotional Education of the Kindergartens in Taiwan—Innovative Curriculum and 1 monograph The Logic of Teaching and Instruction in Classroom. SUN Renge, male, professor of Literature and Art, Chinese Han people, former staff member of Huainan Normal University, also guest supervisor of master’s program in Literature and Art at Anhui University, member of China Writers Association, member of China Literature and Art Critics Association (CLACA), executive member of China Writing Association (of the re-elected board), member of “experts tank” for the Planning Program of Anhui Provincial Philosophy and Social Sciences, also panelist of its online judging panel, was graduated from the Nanjing University Department of Chinese Language and Literature. At present, he is titled full-time professorship and pacesetter of the discipline at AXHU.

 

For 20 years of educational practices already, Sun is committed to teaching, scientific research and creative writing, focuses on research-based teaching practices coupled with the democratized values out of these academic initiatives, tries out the teaching reform and innovative approaches, advocates different kinds of poem-styled teaching, and highlights the students’ ideas crystallized into fascinating outcomes. HU Huanlong

HU Huanlong, male, born in Jan 1960, a native of Huainan, Anhui province, Master of Arts, graduated from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of the Fuyang Normal University (FYNU) in Jul 1982. Historically, he taught at the 19th Middle School (of Huainan Mining Bureau), the Huainan Institution of Education, and the School of Creative Culture and Communication of the Huainan Normal University.

 

Today, he is a full-time professor of the AXHU School of Culture and Communication, mainly teaching the content courses such as the “History of Modern Chinese Literature” and the “Survey of Chinese Culture” to bachelor’s students as well as carrying out the relevant research.

 

And he has published more than 50 academic papers on the journals such as Literature and Art Studies, Theoretical Studies in Literature and Art, Academics in China, China University Teaching, etc. (of which, many articles in full text are cited by many of the academic publications, e.g., the data resources of Renmin University of China) and the Monograph “Shaping of Modern Tradition in Chinese Literature” (co-author, totaling 430 thousand Chinese characters) published by the Anhui Publishing Group in 2016, directed the projects of teaching and scientific research supported by the Anhui Provincial Education Department and the Programs Management Office of Development and Reform Commission of Anhui Province, and participated in the project research of the “Shaping of Modern Tradition in Chinese Literature” sponsored by the national social sciences foundation.

 

In 2011-16, he chaired the program of AXHU-wide Key Discipline Building—Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature, and in 2006-15, he directed the AXHU-based, also Anhui Provincial-level, High-quality Curriculum project—Survey of Chinese Culture and its supportive textbook “Survey of Chinese Culture” issued by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press in 2013, and his academic collection of essays entitled “Cultural Heritage in Huainan” is published by the People’s Publishing House in 2013. And his paper “A Study of Why Lin Shu Is Falling Behind” was granted in 2005 both the second prize of the Anhui Provincial Social Sciences Awards in Literature & Arts and the second prize of the Excellent Paper Award of Anhui Provincial Society of Literary Critics, and the monograph “Shaping of Modern Tradition in Chinese Literature” won the third prize of the Anhui Provincial Social Sciences Awards in Literature and Arts in 2016. Moreover, Hu receives the honor “2009 Anhui Provincial Outstanding Teachers”, the honor “2014 National Exemplary Model Teachers”, and is selected many times “My Most Favorite Teachers” by college students.

 

CHE Xiaoqin

CHE Xiaoqin, the CPC member, Famous Teacher of Anhui Provincial Higher Education, master’s degree, full professor, is named AXHU professorship at the School of Culture and Communication, service professor of the School of Humanity and Law of the Anhui Open University, also the head of the discipline “Chinese Language and Literature,” leading expert of the Anhui Provincial Distance Education Centre, guest professor of the School of Literature, the School of Culture and Communication and the School of Arts in the Huangshan University (HSU), former director of the Teaching Surveillance Office of the Anhui International Studies University, and the director of the School’s Language Committee.

 

Currently, Che mainly takes office as the executive member of Anhui Provincial Association of Elocution Art, the deputy secretary-general of Anhui Provincial Research Institute of Art Appreciation, the executive member of the Anhui Branch of the Chinese Association of Modern and Contemporary Literature, the executive member of the SOCIETY OF ZHANG HENSHUI STUDIES, and the executive member of the Society of Women Science. Che graduated from the Anhui Normal University Department of Chinese Language, and the Anhui University School of Chinese Language and Literature. KONG Yang, male, nationally-certified second-level writer, was born in the city of Anqing, Anhui Province, and graduated from the Anhui Normal University. CHEN Tin

XU Lianghong, master’s degree, associate professor, graduated from the School of Literature, Nankai University, in Aug 2006.

ZHU Wentin, associate professor, born in Jan 1985, obtains the master’s degree in Communication from the Soochow University. In 2010, Zhu joined the AXHU School of Culture and Communication and became a specialized teacher in the area of Advertising, who teaches the content courses to undergraduate students, such as the Introduction to Advertising, Advertising Planning, History of Chinese and Foreign Advertising, Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC), Advertising Management and Administration, etc.

ZHAO Li

ZHAO Li, a native of Lu’an, Anhui province, obtains the bachelor’ degree from the Guangzhou University and the master’s degree in Strategic Communications from the University of Western Australia. Today, Zhao is a faculty member of the Department of Journalism, AXHU School of Culture and Communication, and teaches the content courses to undergraduate students, such as the Communication, Journalism and the like.

 

YANG Xiaoxuan

YANG Xiaoxuan, a native of Hefei, Anhui province, obtains the bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication and the master’s degree in Journalism and Communication, and has years of working experience in Media such as Editing and Interviewing, e.g., a special report and interview of Mr. LIANG Zhenying, the vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Most recently, Yang works as a member of the Scholarly Team consisted of overseas returned doctors, who is of excellence in the aspects of fluency in English and technical skills in Roadshow, and also achieves some of the provincial-level disciplinary awards.

 

LI Xiaolu

LI Xiaolu, female, the CPC member, lecturer, a native of Hefei, Anhui province, obtained the master’s degree in Design from the Hefei University of Technology. And Li’s academic achievements include the 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes, and 3 third prizes of the National Advertising Art Design Competition for College Students or of the Academy Award of Advertising Festival of Chinese College Students (mentor), many provincial-level projects of Teaching and Scientific Research (director), and 2 academic papers (third class). Since Dec 2014, she has serviced as a full-time teacher at the AXHU School of Culture and Communication, and teaches the core courses to undergraduate students such as the Creative Graphics, Color Composition, Computer Graphics Design, Production and Techniques of Fine Arts for Children Education, etc.

 

JIN Yanjiao

JIN Yanjiao, lecturer, obtains the master’s degree from the Nanjing Normal University and years of the professional experience, who is a dual-qualification teacher and whose specialism is in the area of Visual Communication.

 

In 2018, Jin joins the AXHU and teaches the content courses to undergraduate students such as the Introduction to Advertising, Advertising Creative, and New Media Design. The academic achievements include 1 provincial-level project, 3 AXHU-based projects (of which, 1 key research), 1 Grand Prize of the National Advertising Art Design Competition for College Students and the first prize, second prize and third prize of its provincial-level events (mentor), 1 national-level innovation and entrepreneurship project for college students (mentor) and 1 provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship project for college students (mentor). To bolster the field work, Jin guides the students to engage intellectually at some specialty-related enterprises.  

 

HUANG Xi

HUANG Xi, lecturer, receives the master’s degree in Communications from the Anhui Normal University in 2012, and then takes up her post as a faculty member at the AXHU School of Culture and Communication. Huang’s academic research is focused on Internet Communication of Public Opinion as well as New Media Communication, teaches the content courses to undergraduate students such as the Public Relations, Network Communication, Network Communication Practice, etc., and publishes a number of academic papers comprising the Research on Public Opinion Communication at the Internet Forums of China—A Case Study of “Tianya BBS,” A Study of Prevention Strategies against “Judicial Power of Network Media” , etc.

In 2016, Wu joins the AXHU School of Culture and Communication working as a faculty member and a mentor as well, and teaches the content courses to undergraduate students such as the Interviewing and Writing in Journalism, News Commentary, as well as Future Career Planning.

 

CHEN Lin

CHEN Lin, female, lecturer, receives the master’s degree in Communications from the University of Leicester as well as obtains a Chinese Mandarin Proficiency Certificate (Level B). Chen’s specialism is in the area of Communication and Journalism. Formerly, she served as a correspondent with the DLTV-1 (of the Dalian Radio and TV Station).

HONG Yu

HONG Yu, the deputy dean of the AXHU Culture and Communication, receives the  degree in the Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL) from the Sichuan Normal University. In 2009-2013, Hong worked as the anchorperson of  Sichuan Satellite TV (SCTV) of China for its programs: Midday Weather Information, Weather Forecast, Campus Weather Forecast (SCTV-8), and Weekly Weather Report (SCTV-9).

 

Moreover, Hong lectures the pre-job training classes for the personnel with the municipal-level radio and television stations in Sichuan province (e.g. Leshan, Mianyang and Deyang), and at the Sichuan Ruixuan Institution of Communication and Arts, teaches the course Broadcasting and Anchoring to the “Art students” preparing for the Gaokao, whose excellence of teaching facilitates those candidate students transitioning to some famous universities, such as the Beijing Normal University, Sichuan Normal University, Chengdu University of Technology, Sichuan Conservatory of Music, etc. In 2007, she wins an honor “Best Docent” of the International Festival of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (Chengdu, China) and the grand prize of the 4th China Voice Host Competition, and in Jun 2008 the third prize of the CCTV National Etiquette Knowledge Competition themed “Greeting Beijing 2008 Olympic Games—Advocate Cultural, Ethical Progress and Follow New, Positive Trends,” and in 2013 an honor in the AXHU New Staff Achievement Award.

PAN Chiqun, lecturer, executive member of the Dramatists Association (of the Shushan District, Hefei, Anhui province), obtains the maser’s degree and is the recipient of China National Arts Fund for Fostering the Professional Talents. And Pan’s academic achievements include 1 provincial-level project (director), 4 school-level projects of scientific research (director), 2 national-level awards, 3 provincial-level awards, 6  municipal- or school-level awards. Markedly, the feature films by Pan are accepted and released by many TV stations (director), the promotional video is granted a second prize of the competition event by the Hefei Municipal Department of Publicity and its Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (director), and the documentary is awarded a first prize of the National Arts Exhibition (member).

 

ZHENG Shuai

ZHENG Shuai, male, the CPC member, lecturer, a native of Bozhou, Anhui Province, has successfully completed 1 provincial-level project of teaching research (director), 1 AXHU-based project of scientific research and 1 AXHU-wide project of teaching research, published 2 academic papers, and won dozens of awards and honors such as the third prize of the 5th Anhui Provincial Teaching Contests for University Young Teachers, the second prize of the Teaching Skills Competition for Teachers of the Private Colleges and Universities in the Yangtze River Delta, the third prize of the 2nd Chinese Classics Competition—Declaiming, Writing and Interpreting (of teachers group), the first prize of the 11th AXHU Teaching Contests for Young Teachers (also Best Stage Mien Award), the championship of the Anhui Xinhua Group Elites Debate Competition, etc.

 

Historically, Zheng works as the secretary of scientific research, manager of disciplinary competition, assistant director, and takes office, from Feb 2022 onwards, as the assistant dean of AXHU School of Culture and Communication.

 

YANG Zhong

YANG Zhong, associate professor, Chief Announcer, has served as the dubbing specialist for the CCTV, many of provincial-level satellite television stations and the new media, published 2 copies of audiovisual works and 3 monographs, carried out 1 project of Anhui provincial MOOC: TV News Broadcasting (director), 1 project of provincial-level high-quality courses: TV Broadcasting and Anchoring (lecturer), 1 key project of the humanities and social sciences sponsored by Anhui Provincial Education Department (project number: SK2015A605): Research on the “Perceptual Quality” of the Lecturers While Teaching MOOC (director) and its project of the teaching research (project number: 2014jyxm574): On the Reform in the Academic Curriculum of Broadcasting and Anchoring in Accordance with Chuang Tzu’s Philosophy of “Shou” and “Wang”—Perseverance and Dedication. The part in MOOC lectured by Yang was granted the Top 10 Excellent Courses Award by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, and the monographs and lots of broadcasting works win many of the Anhui Provincial Radio and Television Awards. Furthermore, over the past five years, Yang has published 10 academic papers (CSSCI).

 

CHEN Shaolei

CHEN Shaolei, lecturer, director (intermediate), member of Anhui Film and Television Association, a skeleton teacher of the Specialty Radio and Television Directing, AXHU School of Culture and Communication, graduated from the the Department of Directing, Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA).

Previously, Chen worked as the director of Dragon TV (of Shanghai Media Group) and the director of the Program Center of Time New Media Press Co., Ltd. (of Anhui Publishing Group), and has published a number of academic papers. In 2011, the work “A Different Childhood” directed by Chen was honored the Nomination Award of the 3th China Audio-Visual Publication of Excellence, and in 2012 his work Basic Knowledge of Earthquake and Shock-proof Techniques was granted “Anhui Provincial Excellent Science Works.” And in 2017, he worked as the supervisor-general of new media techniques for the critical publication project: The Grandeur of Kunqu Art—Audio-Visual Presentation (of both the 11th Five-Year Plan and the 12th Five-Year Plan issued by the National Press and Publication Administration, by which to win the “Chinese Government Award”).

 

XU Nuo

XU Nuograduated from the Communication University of China, and is now a faculty member of the Specialty Radio and Television Directing, AXHU School of Culture and Communication.

 

ZHAI Chunxiang

ZHAI Chunxiang, a faculty member of the Specialty Radio and Television Directing, member of Anhui Provincial Association of Elocution Art, former anchorperson of AHRTV, teaches the content courses to undergraduate students such as the Broadcasting Phonology, Performing and Broadcasting of Art Works, and the like. The academic achievements or honors include the “excellent mentor” of the 14th “iFLYTEK Cup” Anhui Provincial Poetry and Literature Competition for College Students, 1 second prize of the national-level competition for college students (mentor), and 1 third prize of the provincial-level competition for college students (mentor).

WANG Xinxin, a faculty member of the Specialty Acting of the AXHU School of Culture and Communication, Ballroom Dancing teacher (level-A) of the China Education Federation of The Arts (CEFA), also member of its judge panel, as well as the examiner of  the Anhui Provincial Rating Center, receives the master’s degree from Anhui Normal University in 2019, and teaches the content courses to undergraduate students such as the Professional Appraisal Curricula for Dancesport, Athletic Training, Dancing, etc.

MA Guangbo

MA Guangbo, researcher, member of the China Association of Higher Education, gust researcher of the Anhui Open University, teaches the content course to undergraduate students such as Education Science, Curriculum Theory, and the like. And Ma’ s academic area is the Micro-Education Science, and in the recent years, the academic achievements include 42 papers in full of scientific research (incl. research reports), 39 academic papers published (of which, 13 CSSCI), 9 national- or provincial-level projects (director), and the 16 academic papers (which are granted provincial- or municipal-level Scientific Research Achievements), the honors in the “Outstanding CPC Member,” “Outstanding Teacher,” “Excellent Educator,” “Excellent Experts,” as well as more than 20 awards honored by the provincial- or municipal-level administrations (of which, one-time “Grand Prize,” and two-time “Third-class Merits”)

 

LIN Douxiu

LIN Douxiu, associate professor, deputy director of the Department of Education, master’s degree in Development and Educational Psychology, doctorate in Clinical Psychology (in the process of completing), researcher of the AXHU Research Center for Well-rounded Development of College Students (also the key research base of Anhui Provincial Higher Education in Humanities and Social Sciences), one of the first batch of certified psychological counselors approved by the China Association for Mental Health, member of the Beijing Development Group of the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP), member of both the Anhui Association for Mental Health and its Marriage and Family Committee, vice chairman of the Hefei Psychological Counselors Association, national level-2 psychological counselor, Sandplay therapist of the CFAP, Painting Psychology therapist, former head of a Provincial-level Educational Demonstration Center for College Students’ Mental Health, former director of the Education Center for Mental Health, and the commissioned founder of a Provincial-level  Educational Demonstration Center for Fire Fighters’ Mental Health and its consultant of mental health education. 

 

The research areas of his are involved in the Educational Psychology, Fairy Tales and Archetypal Criticism, Carl Gustav Jung Analytical Psychology, and Psychology of the Heart. Lin’s academic achievements comprise of 4 monographs, 15 papers, and 12 provincial-level or AXHU-based projects (director, or mentor), in which there is a critical project of the China’s Ministry of Science and Technology: A Survey of Psychological Developmental Characteristics of Chinese Children and Adolescents (which in China is the first-time research on Psychological Developmental Characteristics of Chinese Children and Adolescents on the basis of national-wide representative samples, providing with a wider range of important information and data special for overseeing the quality of compulsory education and drawing up the relevant policies.

GU Yunhu, male, doctorate in education, professor, supervisor of master’s program, with several years of working as a secondary school teacher, has been engaged in teaching at higher education since 2003. The academic interests and specialism are in the areas of curriculum and teaching theories, principles of education, history of preschool educational concepts, curriculum development, teaching design, text-based knowledge processing, assessment and analysis of teaching process as well as the evolution of children’s minds and cognition in the field of the primary or secondary education. Moreover, he teaches the content courses to bachelor’s or master’s students such as Education, Curriculum and Teaching Theories, Teaching Design, Philosophy of Education, Philosophy of Children, Selected Readings of Chinese and Foreign Masterpieces in Preschool Education, etc.

WEI Shuang, master’s degree in education, graduated from the Liaoning Normal University. Today, Wei serves as a teacher of Primary Education at the Department of Education. The specialism is in the field of Teaching for Mathematical Discipline, Mathematics-based Curriculum Theory.

 

JIN Yuxi

JIN Yuxi, master’s degree, graduated from the Specialty Preschool Education of the University of Pittsburgh (PITT). Currently, Jin works as a teacher of preschool education at the AXHU School of Culture and Communication. And the academic concentration is in the area of Curriculum and Teaching Theories.

 

WU Qianwen

WU Qianwen, master’s degree in education, graduated from the Nanjing Normal University. Currently, Wu works as a teacher of preschool education at the AXHU School of Culture and Communication, teaching the content courses to undergraduate students such as the General Psychology, Pupil Psychology, and Primary Education, receives the honors: “Outstanding Mentor” at the ACT National Youth English Proficiency Competition, “Favorite Teacher” of the AXHU School of Culture and Communication, and publishes the paper Institutional Innovation of Australian Elementary Education Funding. Chen’s academic achievements include 5 provincial-level projects of teaching and scientific research (director, or member), 3 AXHU-wide projects of scientific research (director), 5 research papers, 6 projects of Innovation and Entrepreneurship for College Students (mentor), and 3 second prizes at the competition for college students across different level (mentor). The academic concentration is in the areas of Psychology of Preschool Children or Educational Management.

 

LI You

LI You, the CPC member, lecturer, master’s degree in Educational Management & Leadership from the University of Southampton, is currently working as a faculty member of Preschool Education at AXHU, and teaches the content courses to undergraduate students such as Principles of Education, Teacher’s Spoken Language,  Evolution of Chinese and Foreign Education, etc. While working at AXHU, Li wins 1 second prize of the 5th Anhui Provincial Essay Competition (by the China Teacher Paper), and receives a number of honors and awards at the events, such as the 13th AXHU Teaching Competition for Young Teachers, the 5th AXHU Teaching Contest of Entrepreneurship for College Students, the 5th AXHU Professional Capacity Competition for Mentorship, the AXHU Competition of Ideological and Political Education for College Students, etc. Moreover, Li works as the director (or member) for the school- or provincial-level projects and the mentor of the innovative training programs for college students, and publishes the papers: The Comparative Research on the Educational Mode and Practice in Humanism for College Students and the Current Situations in China and U.S., Of the Online Teaching of Chinese Spoken Language of Higher Learning for International Students during COVID-19 Response, A Study of Cultivation Strategies for the Leaderships of Administrative Staff of Higher Education, Research on the Cultural Sensitivity & Differences and the Solutions While Teaching International Students, Culture Shock of Sojourners and the Implications for Higher Education Performance, etc. Her academic concentration is in the areas of Educational Management and Leaderships, or Teachers’ Spoken Language.

YANG Zijun

YANG Zijun, female, the CPC member, receives the master’s degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from the Hunan University. In Aug 2022, she joined the AXHU and became a full-time mentor of the School of Culture and Communication, being mainly engaged with the daily student management and student services for the classes of 2025 majoring in Primary Education and Preschool Education.

 

ZHAO Qun

ZHAO Qun, female, Chinese Han people, the CPC member, lecturer, senior-level Mentor, master’s degree, nationally certified second-class psychological consultant, nationally certified second-class career coach, is currently serving as a full-time mentor at the School of Culture and Communication.

 

WANG Qianwen

WANG Qianwen, the CPC member, is now working as a full-time mentor at the School of Culture and Communication, who is principally engaged with the daily student management and student services for the classes of 2026 majoring in Primary Education and Preschool Education.

 

SHAO Zihao

SHAO Zihao, a full-time mentor at the School of Culture and Communication, joined the AXHU in 2022, who is mainly engaged with the daily student management and student services for the classes of 2026 majoring in Broadcast Editing, Journalism, Advertising, Chinese Language and Literature.

WANG Li

WANG Li is the CPC member, Intermediate Mentor, nationally certified second-class psychological consultant, and the mentor of career development for College Students (of Anhui Provincial Institutions of Higher Education).

 

XU Mingyue

XU Mingyue, the CPC member, lecturer, Intermediate Mentor, nationally certified third-class psychological consultant, joined the AXHU in 2005. Xu is the two-time recipient of the Anhui Provincial Excellent Full-time Mentor Allowance, harvests several third prizes of the Academic Papers Awards for Administrative Staff of the Anhui Provincial Higher Education, works as the director (or member) of many AXHU-wide  key projects, publishes a number of research papers, and instructs the undergraduate students to win at the Anhui Provincial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programs for College Students and the Anhui Provincial Food Design Innovation Competition for College Students.

 

YANG Li

YANG Li, the CPC member, joined the AXHU in 2020. Yang works as a panelist for the critical decision-making consultation projects of the General Administration of Sport of China, publishes a number of academic papers, instructs the undergraduate students to successfully apply for the national- or provincial-level projects of the innovation and entrepreneurship for college students and to win some prizes at the Anhui Provincial “Internet” competition.

 

CHU Jing

CHU Jing, the CPC member, lecturer, master’ degree, Intermediate Industrial Artist, the nationally certified mentor of career development for College Students, graduated from the Anhui Jianzhu University. Chu’s honorable titles include the “Advanced Individual” (of the First-year Seminar), “Most Beautiful Guide,” “Outstanding CPC Member,” “Most Beautiful Mentor,” etc.

 

The academic achievements comprise of the 6 projects of Anhui Provincial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Programs for College Students (mentor), 4 projects of National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Programs for College Students (mentor), 3 projects of Anhui Provincial Disciplinary Competition for College Students (mentor), 6 AXHU-wide projects of teaching and scientific research (director, or member), 1 key research project of the 2021 Humanities and Social Sciences of Anhui Provincial Higher Education (member), and a number of research papers. Additionally, Chu teaches content courses to the undergraduate students, such as Employment Guidance, Career Planning, Fundamentals of Business Startups, Color Composition, Interior Design, Professional Skills of Fine Arts, etc.
