Organized by FEDERATION OF UNIVERSITY SPORTS OF CHINA (FUSC), the Championship kicked off at Civil Aviation Flight University of China, Dec 4-8, 2025, in the city of Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
The Team AXHU student-athletes, led by Prof. YAN Jingming and his colleague at AXHU School of Art, struggled and claimed three gold and one silver, while displaying their masterly techniques and skills characterizing with the theory and practice of dance with spirituality.
As a result of AXHU Student Sports Dance Association’s established three-level training system based on an educational gradient of “Competition-driven Exercises for Betterment,” i.e., prime-time senior players are to be ramping up efforts for national games, intermediate players going for provincial-level invitational dance events, and elementary members committing to municipal or campus-wide engagement in festival celebrations, public dance exhibitions, or other cultural entertainments.
Coached by the dedicated teachers and choreographers at AXHU, the Team members, who all are studying the School’s undergraduate program in Dance Performances, during their monthslong training hardships after school throughout ballroom repertoire, like, to follow prescribed steps in various favorite contexts and dress rehearsal for the elaborate systems of court etiquette, intricate movements embellishing with rhythms in musical style to exude each posture and gesture, and ritual formations on the dance floor..., achieved a lot.
In the discipline of Campus Formation Dance, the AXHU students represented their competitive performance and youthful vigor in grace, embodied a perfect integration of physical strength and artistic elegance, especially when dancing in well-matched harmony formations leading to believe to bag the gold medal.
Being vivid in front of the jury panelists and excited audiences, their characteristic blending fiery Latin dance’s outburst of enthusiasm in vibrancy and gracefully interpretive genre of Modern dance traditions is where the partner dance (one-silver) and singles’ (three-gold) both at the time meet a new expressive intensity of what they communicated through facial expressions, eye contact, connection, spin and turn, jump and leap, and much more, and all conveyed certain passionate emotions that take center stage to showcase academic confidence and cultural influences in upright stance of ballroom dance students from around the Chinese universities.
As one of the feature programs of AXHU-based disciplinary innovation campaign, the teaching practices of sports dance in recent years leverage an ideal, lively fusion of sports, fitness, and aesthetic education to materialize, activate and reflect the dynamics of Quality Education engineering.
As a “calling-visiting card” alike of the founding of the Association at AXHU community, the vibrant members had had since achieved a large number of shining achievements in many fields and at all levels.
The dance team future will continue to adhere to its core values: “UNITY, PASSION, EXCELLENCE,” and to conclude their past years’ experience, work hard, and record highs on the circles and squares in China and internationally.
Meanwhile, AXHU administration will continuously carry out and advocate educational reform planned to be put in multiple aspects, like the broad access to innovation and transformation by means of the most sought-after engagement with campus sports dance, to support and establish many much higher platforms of cultural significance in self-expression, self-awareness, self-actualization for the current students to make their dreams come true.
