and 1^st National Artificial Intelligence Security Competition

Recently, the finals of the two nationally disciplinary competition Tracks concluded with many new breakthroughs in AI tech and the applications, during which a number of AXHU students recorded high in the fields and with which they also collected a trove of academic results at the national level, who have gotten a second wind several years later for the AXHU’s educational resurgence in the era of high-tech category challenges.   

Firstly. At the National Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition, AXHU delegation earned the provincial-level awards: one First Prize; five Second Prize; four Third Prize; one Excellence Nomination, while the national-level: one First Prize; two Second Prize; two Third Prize.

This mega event was both publicly and officially accredited as one of the most critical contests for AI-based R&D by the current professionals of impact to edge forward sustainably, which was hosted by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) in succession, adhering to its value and mission of focusing on the “Pioneering Future Science & Technology For National Strategy.”

Secondly. As did the younger talented college students at AXHU work well on a brilliant roll, during the 1^st National Artificial Intelligence Security Competition this time sponsored by the China Information Industry Association (CIIA), which brought together 350 delegations from 80 universities and colleges of China.

Competing throughout every item on agenda official, the AXHU faculty QI Xiaoxia-led  the student team, including WAN Jinpeng, HE Junchen, SHENG Dejun, and QIN Huaizhi, took the First-place at the national races, and meanwhile, another two teams, respectively, instructed by the faculty LU Hejun, WANG Yingyun, received the Second-place both.      

And a collection of achievements so far have revealed the AXHU School of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence-driven system of “Theory+Experiment+Training+Innovation” running in a four-fold increase on the groundings, where the educational providers and managers will continue to step up the structured establishments, covering practical courses, advanced lab facilities, top-tier teachers and researchers, and other supporters, with whom the current students can scale up their academic readiness, and then could align themselves with the largest-scale participation updated on standards into the peer professionals and practitioners on the fronts, nationally.   

At present, AI technology is changing in many ways, and on one side, being beneficently used across the modern society.

Thus, meantime, about the correspondingly emerging problems and issues, such as Security Algorithm, Data Privacy, Deepfake Identities, or other derivatives being on the negative sides, the peer fellows have already fretted seriously and philosophically for the future of the social security and safety, technically taking a position of readying a reinforcing fortification that will prop up the state-level strategies, at first.

With that to prepare those on-campus students’ interdisciplinary capabilities and to help them shape an attitude of staying positive all-time onto some of much larger tech platforms, the School’s talent policies towards such new challenges and opportunities must resort to being flanked with a series of educational solutions that are familiar with innovation and transformation in the times of people-machine interactivity.

Adhering to the AXHU motto of “Being Virtues; Pursuing Truth; Erudition; Innovation” for its future Education series, expanding ties with social enterprises, research institutes, and relevant governmental sectors, and concentrating on the critical parts of the CS-intensive revolutionary evolution like AI-based algorithm optimization, Human-Robot coordination, as well as the ethics of AI tech representing in itself and transformed into real-world applications, AXHUers will be committed themselves to guaranteeing the winning of global AI security and safety, via AXHU-wide tech supports, research-turned-outcomes, and most importantly, cultivating a fair number of comprehensive talents who will but must enjoy a broader vision internationally, while reviewing their own professional abilities on a timeline, and also reflecting on any potentials of turning up to the high-end industries in coming years.
