On the morning of 29 June 2025, the inaugural ceremony for the AXHU-based ‘Academy of Translating Anhui’ as one of the Anhui Translators Association-affiliated branches celebrated at the Multimedia Hall of AXHU Research Building, which will bear the hallmarks of the geniuses engaged long with the Anhui-wide translation cause of communicating Chinese cultural icons and the inherited stories to the world’s people who want to know what’s happened and will be happening across the China.
At 9:30 a.m., on behalf of the AXHU administration, the executive vice dean of the School of International Education CHENG Yi announced this historical event to begin, officially, where convened a huge group of VIP sitting leaderships or fellow members involved positively in the relevant areas, including the vice president of the CICG Academy of Translation and Interpretation, also Executive Vice Secretary-General of the Translators Association of China (TAC), XING Yutang; Supervisory Commissioner of the Anhui Provincial Education Commission at AXHU/secretary of the CPC AXHU committee DI Jianwei; the senior Associate Editor-in-Chief with the People’s Daily (in English version) CHEN Lidan; the president of the Anhui Translators Association XU Ming; the consultant at the Anhui Translators Association, the inaugural dean of the Academy of Translating Anhui, FAN Dongsheng, also taking office as the dean of AXHU School of International Education; the vice president of the Hongshan College of Nanjing University of Finance and Economics CHENG Hongyun; as well as the chief staffers at the AXHU International Exchange and Cooperation Office/the School of International Education, or some faculty members or researchers of translation & interpretation from the other schools and departments.
Initially, the Secretary Di congratulated the founding of the academic institute based on AXHU campus, moreover, stressing the significance of University-Industry collaboration to develop in an effective way along which the fellow members can boost the Chinese culture of impact and its inherited elements regionally across the Anhui province.
So the AXHU administration actions will always support such full-fledged evolution, via providing with the tailored policies, well-operated systems, talent-centered services, and advanced tools and technologies, for itself as one of the most impactful, innovative, tranformative organization either in Anhui province or nationally.
And “this is another scholarly measure to help improve ‘Translating Anhui’ practices to a higher level and then to maximize the platform’s functional engagement to make our most meaningful culture added to the humanities worldwide, by rendering certain indigenous texts recognized theoretically in multiple forms,” Director Xu urged.
Also, Prof. Fan Dongsheng interpreted the Academy’s positioning at the very beginning and its future development trends for all the career attendees, and put forth: “The powerhouse should place itself into the Anhui-featured cultural contexts to have a detailed journey, enjoying an unusual work experience of excellence, covering the high-end academic research of Translation & Interpretation, the new solutions for intercultural communications, and more, while especially cultivating the next-generation talents in this domain.”
After that, along with Prof. Xu and Prof. Fan, Di unveiled the Academy’s Shield covered in bright red silk, warmly regaining another period of applause to congratulate from all the members.

As a significant result of 2025, to grow the impacts of Anhui-wide feature culture and humanistic realities, working with the front-line incumbents or distinguished professionals at the Anhui Translators Association-like research organizations across the China, which have and will be fully supportive of the deeper explorations and practices since the founding of the Academy, there, the AXHU-based translators’ largest efforts full of huge passions will therefore continue for the national academic cause’s greatness and achievements in the areas of cross-cultural and -linguistic communications, globally, for the long haul.
