The 1st CHINA-ASEAN WUSHU CHAMPIONSHIP kicked off at Nantong University sports venue, Jiangsu, China, Friday, Nov 1, 2024, co-hosted by Wushu Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China-and Wu Shu Federation of ASEAN-China.

 

The wushu sports event gathered 200 delegates with up to 1,600+ headcount—including athletes, coaches, and referees—from around the globe, who were getting to the aspiring performance and artistic displays, featuring the standardized forms of major popular disciplines of Chinese martial arts spanning from the optional formats of bare-handed quan and Short or Long Weapons to traditional exhibitions and styles.

 

Benefiting from the support staff CUI Dufeng and ZHANG Yan at AXHU General Education Department, the undergraduate students, who are studying the AXHU undergraduate programme in Performance, bag some medals in the category of taolu events (or choreographed routines): SHAO Tingting, C’26, won a gold of Huizhou-style Tai Chi; CHEN Ke, C’26, a silver of Huizhou-style Tai Chi; ZHANG Jinjing, C’27, ranking 4th in huaquan (Fist); and WANG Xinyun, C’28, 4th in nandao (Southern Chinese variation of the single-edged sword), moreover, during which all the kung fu masters culturally translated the profound history of Chinese martial arts with their skilled, composed, charmed and exquisite movements and techniques.  

 

With the consolidated backup from AXHU camps and the years-long teachings reform and training innovation at the sports clubs level, whatever the AXHU Wushu Association has accomplished today will forever echo, challenge, and champion the Mission & Values—“Athletic Experience & Expertise-Powered Education at AXHU.”
