From Sep 30 through Oct 7, the 2024 Chinese National Men’s Ice Hockey Championship gathered seven teams (from Beijing, Anhui, Qiqihar, Guizhou, Jiamusi, Guangdong, and Beijing College of Sports) in northeast China’s Harbin city, which is officially recognized the top contact team sport in this field.
Historically, Team Anhui (which is comprised of players and coaches at both the AXHU and the Anhui Hockey Association) recorded high and finished second in the finals.
On the hockey rink, Anhui and Guangdong stayed unbeaten and thrashed to reach the semifinals of the competition, during which they tied the game at 2-2 in the normal periods and overtime, and the penalty was called.
Grounded in everyday supercharge training in advance and the coaches’ effective tactics in decisive strategies, Anhui teammates grind out in the seventh round of the shootout，win over the strong rival, and become a qualifier into the finals, who display their own lofty athletic spirit and extraordinary edges in speed, strength, resilience, and passion, which let them enjoy a belonging in a wide range of positive acclaims and applause from both the sportsmen and audience.
“What a honorable opportunity of competing back-to-back with many of national-level players we have in this season! To be frank, the existing gap should be shorten in the upcoming days...,” AXHU student player LU Rongjun reflected.
“We will continue to struggle with all members’ dedication to advancing sports culture on campus and ceaseless endeavor through scientific approaches to nourish the high-level players, so as to ignite their youthful passion for AXHU victory, for Anhui-wide hockey game’s splendor, and for the international impact of China Winter Sports.”
