A hand-made sachet by undergrads of the School of Pharmacy means a lot for AXHU Fighters against COVID

In recent days, the National Health Commission (NHC) reported the confirmed cases or asymptomatic infections of COVID-19 in some provinces of China. AXHU rises to the hardest challenges and implements a temporarily closed-off management to unswervingly safeguard the life safety of faculty, students, and staff. Also, on the afternoon of April 13, the undergraduates of the School of Pharmacy greatly take advantage of their specialties knowledge, and research and develop a batch of “anti-pandemic sachets,” which are stuffed with the Chinese herb medicine to pay tribute to these committed educators on campus.

The scent of Chinese herbs fragrantly permeates from one classroom to another, where seemingly become a scene of streamlined but intricate workshop, easing the tension and seriousness of teaching and learning at the usual time.

The ingredients of the anti-pandemic sachet include some select Chinese traditional medicines, specially, gathering and collecting from the natural world, such as clove, agastache rugosus, mint, costus root, rhizoma atractylodis, Angelica dahurica, and so on, featuring a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation of eliminating dampness syndrome with aromatics and anti-inflammation performance, and an effect of dissipating dampness, disease prevention, health care, refreshing and revitalizing, regulating vital energy and remove obstruction in meridians and collaterals of human body.

That day, the recipients, such as the volunteers, statistical clerks, campus policemen, and medics for nucleic acid tests, managers of dormitory building, sanitation workers, logistical crew, steward in canteen, makeshift faculty and staff for grid management, mentors participating in the through-course student management and more, respectively, expressed their heartfelt appreciation, and smiled from ear to ear.

When taking up the hand-made love-filled sachet and then placing the little lovable thing smelling pleasant fragrance onto the palm, the exquisite handicraft like a piece of Chinese artwork transmitting a passion, they cheered up and were deeply moved by the friendliness, carefulness, and kindness of those beloved students.     

For days and nights, the faculty and staff made an arduous, selfless devotion on the anti-pandemic front, and they got very relieved and comforted when obtaining a real understanding, cooperation and support from the students at scale. The sachets forge a heart-to-heart link and create a very special bond between faculty and staff and students.

Recently, a buzz quote reads, “We believe that anytime, you are always beside us.” The sachets bring with a promise of health and fitness, and bring up a climate of loving humanism.

Facing with the COVID-19 outbreaks, anti-pandemic sachet making is another contribution for the current COVID-19 prevention and control. The undergrads of the School of Pharmacy of AXHU do what they can/want to do, and with these hand-made gifts, present their best wishes to back up these anti-pandemic faculty and staff at AXHU.
