The 16th Track & Field Games’ opening ceremony took place at AXHU’s Auspicious Cloud Stadium on the Thursday’s morning, Apr 24, which was congratulated and attended by the AXG chairman WU Junbao; AXG vice president WANG Xiaowu, also chairman of AXHU Board of Trustees; residential secretary of the CPC AXHU committee DI Jianwei, also Department of Education of Anhui Province supervisor at AXHU; provost ZHAO Liangqing; executive vice president WANG Li; vice president LI Jinxing, He Xingjia, WANG Qijin (as the grand event’s moderator); assistant president SHENG Xiaoqing, administrative officers at the schools and departments; supporters, athletics enthusiasts, and volunteers in on-campus sporting organizations and authorities across all levels, and more.
Looking at the National Flag honorary escorts thumping in close formation who marched with a gracious salutation along the red tracks on sports field, and amid the uplifting, catchy Games anthem sounding loudly over the crowed stadium, then, the national flag-raising ceremony gave a solemn identity to the start of the 2025’s bigger event.
All of which featured the AXHUers’ vibrant processions in determination and courage of marking another new chapter of 2025.
Themed with “Youth be with struggles and passion” scaling up the spiritual force of “Solidarity, Challenge and Transcendence,” the lineups get ready for the arena before a sea of excited crowd at viewing stand, where they will witness the AXHU’s modern infrastructure and sporting heritage on full display.
They are filing onto the parade ground: the schools’ young student formations appealing with a mien of vigor and charm in prime time, the honorary representatives of AXHU-wide faculty and staff athletes keeping high-profile to support the IOC initiatives of “blending sport with culture and education,” and the executive board members with AXHU Gen Ed Depart staying committed to ensuring a time of “safe sport and fair play” and promoting the development of campus sport for all year after year.
The national anthem singing again inspired all attendees’ spirited evolution in chorus, while paying a patriotic tribute to the bright Red Five-starred Flag now fluttering high in such sunbeams-shining skies—the venue was basked from flame to flame with the ambitions and expectations of sportsmen, students and staff members, here.
And Zhao on behalf of AXHU administration addressed the opening remarks, adding that the AXHU-wide PE innovation by choric, convergent evolution “earned 277 awards in all (of which, 236 national-level and 2 international-level items) last year, such as ‘Three-peat’ Team AXHU at Chinese University Hockey League (CUHL),” and highlighting the three-point proposals as follows: 1) Together, every delegate will be grinding through the contests like not only an exciting 100-meter sprinter boosting exceedingly for the final line, but also the marathon runners’ endurance and determination to go beyond the historical records, which help foster themselves a psyche of clinching the essential, important things in a life-long spiritual quest, while in the pursuit of the competitive spirit of “Citius, altius, fortius” as the official motto of Olympic Games, and meantime the values of olympism—“excellence, respect and friendship;” 2) All the referees and tech officials in the coming engagement should zero in on the safe sport at first, and justify each operation according to officially detailed interpretations for evaluation and accreditation of “Fair and Equity” at the professional level, which could help bring the 2025 event achievements in many different manners; and 3) Let’s go!—switching from classrooms, dorms, labs, to sport fields—All AXHU people should make the individuals’ Be Well considerate and thoughtful as physical part of everyone’s academic career better to excise, to strive, and to win for the entire national welfare.
Respectively, an oath session was taken by the student-athlete deputy WU Chengjun at the School of Foreign Studies, and the PE Department faculty KONG Lingjie as a representative official from the juries.
Afterwards, “the AXHU 2025 Games to open,” the Party secretary Di declared officially.
Then, the curtain-raiser showing on red carpet: the festive Dragon and Lion Dances by the PE Department-affiliated student clubs of Chinese traditional craftsmanship and performing arts, rolling out an inspirational banner streaming in the summer wind, which bears the words: the “Magic Creatures:Dragon and Lion—Transcending Borders for Common Faith, Living in Audacious Marvel, and Bringing Good Fortune to the Spiritual Land,” by the dedicated, effusive performers dressed as the dynamic animated figures—jumping, posing and blinking..., bobbing, clinging and gesturing... onstage—stunted in essence and soulfully with the traditional Chinese Dragon and Lion’s enchanted myths and iconography decoding in the human and spiritual connections, featuring in the costume drama in front of hopeful viewers, who altogether were heating up to the music of cymbal-drum extravaganza amounting to a frenzy, and highly mounting over a hint of shared passion for national cultural confidence in a new era.
A classical Ode drama: “A Kingdom of Ritual Heritages” by the School of Culture and Communication was unfolding a ceremonious picture of its more than 5,000-year-old oriental civilizations: We are coming along with some principles, faiths and values, and are in turn to embrace any people of love towards peace, equality, inclusion and common welfare, which is a deep searching for dignity from genuine meaning of life.
The highly caffeinated song “Ask the Deepseek” conjured by a student association at the School of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence is set just under a cloud of collisions between the best-ever AI-tech tools and the real world in their youth, taking over much more than we think so far.
“Let’s count down: ‘3-2-1’,” beamed onto the big screen, some of the School of Business-based e-commerce service projects operating currently on the live-streaming platform online, celebrating a sense of the new disciplinary innovations and extended inventions of Chinese intangible cultural heritage that still reverberates today, including the popular entertainment performance of Huangmei opera Nv Fu Ma—literally meaning “Emperor’s ‘Female’ Son-in-law” in Chinese, and traditional hand-made craftsmanship to process “Fish Lantern,” and more, wondering with the oohs and bravos hailed as a great success in heralding historic inheritance’s arrival in a brand new look and attributed to the run-up of industry revitalization nationally.
Segueing into techno rap-pop stirred up by School of Electronic Engineering/Intelligent Manufacturing’s cast, the electronic sports fans were cheered up with the contest-winning Ruihang USVs in other on-camera areas, being accompanied by the AXHU mega-star AI-powered humanoid robot’s ‘hot’ dance, which garnered Tech fans’ long-standing ovation and applause much.
“Rising Like A Phoenix In Flames!” An operatic performance “Spring Upbeat” in the run up to take the sequin-drenched stage, launched originally by the School of Accounting and Finance to drum up excitement of resurgence while making a new sense of life chapters.
Hooray! This is an appeal to the youth students’ resurrection to make their long-lived dreams come true, facing off against kinda ‘impossible’ battles at any time.
But then, another brilliant culmination of eye-feasting fireworks display is steering a feel-good constellation of thumbs-up, dopamine delivery, and creative catalyst performing arts by more and more troupes coming from the other schools and departments, competing for their best-ever high-key time and age with great fanfare, being like the School of Art is blazing with their rhythmic gymnastics—leading the way in artistic form, the School of Urban Construction celebrating and reflecting on a new world with a laudable musical “Achieving In New Era,” School of Pharmacy feasting on a visual sketch of qigong Ba Duan Jin八段锦in its depiction for promoting traditional Chinese medicine regimen worldwide, the School of Foreign Studies’ flashback show of the greatest-hits movie-adapting vividly textured in a multiple of foreign languages such as English, French, Japanese and Korean, the Etiquette Performing of “To Be Better” in sync with the academic wellspring of Virtuosity movement at the School of Science & Technology/Continuing Education, as well as the most-lauded dance “The Mongolia” by the current international students at the School of International Education physically and mentally interpreting their national spirit abound in elegance, confidence and love.
“Let’s start long before the dawn!” fast-forwarding with “AXHU-fashioning New Rhythm.”
The finale of the 2025 ‘Symphony’ already is getting along with a big meetup of over 500-member student players, who always will keep the lights on AXHU’s another future-time education charming with a picturesque tale of youth grandeur about what’s possible anyhow through the lens of both sports aesthetics and academic breakthroughs beyond the cultural turns, and who are now singing a setting of Chinese New Wave, sparking a beacon of youthful hope and ambition, and highlighting the selfies of generations after generations’ selfless dedications across AXHU community to our great national educational cause.
Also, this is a pedagogy complex of ‘Strength, Beauty and Wisdom’ of a lifetime adventure into the core part of AXHU’s value and mission.
Adhering to a philosophical life-expression of “Health Be First—Lifelong Sports” embedded in the AXHU education traditions shaping with more personal attractions to beckon the Meta PE-driven additions to Quality Education in accessibility, continuity, and sustainability, setting some new directions for balanced ‘Body & Mind’ development through the institutional practices of “Morality, Intelligence, Wellness, Aesthetic and Diligence” nourishing on AXHU campus, which is like touchstone but manna from the Declaration of Chinese New Era.
Upholding the Olympic spirit of “Faster, Higher, Stronger—Together!” to pioneer breakthroughs for betterment during the 2025 Games.
Moreover, all AXHU people will continue to battle many hurdles and obstacles out on “fields and tracks” of career advancement toward Medal ceremonies, and brave any challenges onward for the flaming altar of zeitgeist transcendence at a time.
