Series of Lectures on International Vision and Academic Promotion kick off at AXHU

For expanding the AXHUers’ international vision and learning from the trends of the world’s academic frontiers, the first session of the series of lectures themed “International Vision and Academic Promotion” was successfully held on the AXHU International Communication Cloud Platform on Nov. 16, 2022.

 

This section is lectured by Mr. Liu Zhixian, former director of the Department of International Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Third Secretary of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Geneva, Switzerland, and Member of Executive Board of the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China). Its theme is of how to prepare the internationalized talents by an in-depth understanding of UN diplomacy. Liu shares his personal experience with the students and faculty and staff, detailing the history of United Nations, its major impact on the current international affairs, as well as the relations between UN and China, and urges a wider range of the youths and educators of higher education of China to be actively engaged in the international exchange and communication, by which to develop their own international horizon in big-picture terms and endeavor to make China to exercise an important influence on the global affairs. In the end of the lecture, much more attendees acclaim, its contents of distinction inject fresh vitality in their college life.

 

This series of lectures are co-organized by the AXHU International Exchange and Cooperation Office, AXHU Center for Developing Teachers’ Capacity, and Beijing PATH Academics, aiming to convene the professors with the reputed institutes of higher learning at home and abroad to probe into the concerns about the academic frontiers and international competency. Moreover, which has also created a valuable opportunity to ignite the students’ academic interests, to secure their problem-solving abilities and self-paced learning possibles, and to realize a face-to-face communication in the post pandemic era.   

 

In the upcoming weeks, the remaining themed lectures are rolling out, and the world-class professors will stage one by one, who are coming from the Columbia University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Harvard University, University of Oxford, and Boston University, respectively.
